spindliscious

got the dropped spindles on, glad i tried to fit the brake backing plate on before i put them on though... had to grind off a corner for it to fit the early backing plate (hopefully it's not a "load bearing" part of the spindle)... this will drop the front end 2.5" by itself, then with the adjustable beam i can put it on the flo yo...

beamtastic

5 inch narrowed adjustable beam... no shocks... it's gonna ride like a phat caddy... shocks?? we don't need no stinkin' shocks....

here's a few more shots of tom's ride... a nice cleaned up and primed body... and how it looked before the sheetmetal work... you can get an idea of what it'll look like though... wide fenders front and back, chopped windshield, permanent vert 2 seater...

Buzz Saw

here's tom's "car"... i have dubbed it "Buzz Saw" because that is both tom's tool of choice for mods, as well as what it sounds like when he fires up the engine (i think it's buried under there somewhere)...

Word...

here's what it looked like when it got here last year... she looks about the same now, just in more pieces... tie rod here, beam there... where did i put that steering box?

and don't bother pointing out the multi-colored paint job, or the exquisite interior, believe me, those are the least of my problems... not to mention, when you see tom's "car", mine will start to look like it belongs in jay leno's garage...

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3...

tom and i wanted to post updates on our painfully slow progress on our bugs, so checking the site about twice a year should keep you up to date... it's a battle to see who can legally drive their car first... sad thing is tom's car was stripped down, body off pan a few weeks ago and he has 2 kids and he'll still beat me... oh well, at least mine will be cooler...
